about

Staring Straight Ahead
A collection of poems and texts with audio accompaniment

Ten poems about people, some of whom I know well and some I've only heard about.

A three track ambient suite based on recordings of places, some of which I know well and some I only visited.

The physical copy comes in the form of an A5 paperback book, with a CD attached to the inside-back cover. It looks lovely and green.

The digital copy comes in the form of a pdf of the book and mp3s (or equivalent) of the music. It looks a bit less lovely and green but it is also a bit cheaper.

All proceeds go to Hoot Creative Arts, to support their work in Kirklees and the surrounding community providing an artistic platform for people with a range of needs.

Book and CD cover design by Amy Parmenter
Book photography by JW except 'subway' by Keir Callaghan

Pt. II features a sample of the piece 'I want to tell a story that cancels itself as it goes I replied', composed by Ben Isaacs and performed by T.J Burden.

Any similarities to actual real people contained within the poems are intentional but meant in a loving way. Every effort has been made to give anonymity to those who have requested it.

Thanks to all those that have helped and inspired.
